Hi guys, We cannot deny that there is a vast number of wonderful and incomparable places outside our own country. There are other cultures out there, new types of food, different sceneries, unimaginable things left unexplored; a whole new world out there! We can't just limit ourselves to what we have. Every badi needs to go and try to visit a different country every now and then ---and to do that, we need passports. Rumor has it that getting a passport is a tedious task. They say that you need to be as early as you can and drag yourself to the DFA at dawn and secure a priority number, else you suffer a long waiting time and be bored yada yada. But it is not true at all, for us, at least. We found that it's not as bad as the rumors says. We got our passports in more or less 3 hours(yes, 3 hours may not be what you had anticipated but we'll explain why it's not too long.) We will only guide you on how to get the passports yourselves. You may disregard this if you want to get it from agencies and other passport aid services. Requirements to get passports in Cebu CityFor New Applications Applying for a new passport needs more requirements as listed below: LIST OF ACCEPTABLE IDS (At least 1 of the following):
What we brought were the employment ID, Voter's ID, CEDULA, NSO BIrth Certificate with an offical receipt, and our TOR For Renewal of Passports: For renewals, the requirements are much simpler. Just bring the following
How to get passports in Cebu CityFirst step:
Once you're done...Congratulations. You're done with the process! Good job! Have a cookie! The staff will tell you when you can get your passport. The waiting time depends on you're processing fee(950 for normal processing - 1 month, and 1200 or express processing - two weeks.) Just remember to photocopy the requirements you bring beforehand. We only saw two photocopying services inside the mall and they cost two pesos per scan(back to back scans equals 4 pesos), plus the line for those services can reach up to 30 minutes or more. As we said, you may opt to get services from travelling agencies, but you'll probably pay extra, maybe an additional 1,000 pesos. We found that the application process was fast and there were no fixers that mess up the queue times. If you don't want to wake up too early, then go ahead. Just make sure you get to the Pacific Mall before 8. We actually recommend this rather than going there at dawn for a priority number. Good luck! And happy travelling! Hi guys,
This time, I planned to surprise my badi with a trip to Kalanggaman Island, Leyte. It recently circulated around my social media and I thought, maybe we should go. The island looks great, and I hope he will like it there. I didn't tell him where we'd go, though. He threw a bunch of guesses, and he actually got it right(but i just put on a poker face). The boat ride going to the island from Palompon costs 3,000 php for the round trip. The boat can accommodate 10 people, so it would be better if you can find other people to join you and split the fee. NOTE: This trip only accounts our adventure. It is not the best way to go there. For a guide, please click on the TL;DR button below. CEBU Kalanggaman Island is found in Leyte. So the first step is to go there. We went there by getting on a Roble ship bound to Ormoc. Roble has several sections to choose from depending on your budget. The Economy class tickets are around 400 php. The double bunk beds for this section are found on the deck and in open air. The whole deck is shared by the passengers, so there's no privacy. The next section, the tourist class, is at 550 php. These are similar to the economy but on an airconditioned room. The cabin section is at almost 1,000 php per ticket and it is good for six people. The V.I.P. Room is for two and costs 2,000 per room. We bought tickets for tourist before hand. In the port, we paid for the terminal fee at 25 php each. Canyoneering in Badian, CebuLast January 3, 2016 my badi surprised me to go to an adventure that I've been wanting to try called "Canyoneering". Canyoneering has become known after the GMA 7 TV Show called "Biyahe ni Drew" featured it on their show. HOW TO GET THERE The usual meet-up when you're travelling to south is in South Bus Terminal, the first schedule for the bus to depart is 03:00 AM. We've arrived at the South Bus Terminal @ 05:30 AM since the travel hours going to Badian is roughly 3 to 4 hours max depending on how fast the bus go. We paid 147 pesos each for the bus fare. Just tell the conductor to drop you off at the tourism office of Badian. We've arrived at their tourism office at exactly 08:OO AM for the registration; note that we did not pay anything at this stage. The guide we booked last January 3, 2016 was a licensed guide named Noynoy. We contacted him through 0936 133 5001 and booked at a discounted price of 700 php per person. The fee only includes the guide fee and equipment rentals. From there on we rode a motorcycle going to the staring point of the Canyoneering, we paid 50 pesos for the fare. We're not surprised by the number of people who were excited to experience the thrill. On the third day of Novena. We plan to complete the 9-day novena mass in preparation for the Sinulog Festival!
Welcome to the clear waters of Alcoy. For this trip, we rented out a small cabin by the seaside. ~To write. |
